LUCK, on Monday, ran against a gang of robbers, who robbed a man on exiting a bank.
Eyewitness told the Nigerian Tribune that a gang of two robbers, who operate on motorcycle, had set an ambush for a bank customer in Area 3 Garki Abuja and robbed him of his money.
He said the man walked out of a bank, with a polythene bag containing N150,000 he just withdrew from the bank.
The source disclosed that as soon as the man stepped on the road, an unknown person snatched the polythene bag containing the money and jumped on a waiting unregistered motorcycle and they sped off.
The shout of the man attracted one Corporal Abu Tanko, a police motorcycle rider attached to Force Headquarters Abuja, who gave the hoodlums a hot chase and at a point, around Area 8, the robbers, being afraid they were about to be caught, flung the bag to the police officer, abandoned their motorcycle and ran away.
Corporal Tanko returned to the scene of the incident about 15 minutes later, with the whole money intact and handed over same to the owner, who did not believe he could get his money back, as onlookers and passers-by expressed gratitude to the police officer for a job well done.
